Step 1: You need a Google account before going to start with Google Analytics you must have a Google account if you have then you can use it. If you don’t have a Google account you can create here.

Step 2: once you have a Google account then you can go to Google analytics and set up your new Google Analytics account.
Click on the new account tab and go and you will be sent to a new page where you need to click on the green button to sign up.

Step 3:
Sign up with Google Analytics here you need to enter your new account information for your website.
Account name: you will have to add an account name for your analytics account.
Website name: here, you need to add the name of your website.
Website URL: at this box, you will need to add your site URL.

After entering the above information you will need to configure your data sharing setting.
After all these steps you simply will have to click on the “get tracking id” button and you need to agree on a way to the Google Analytics terms and conditions Of Google.

1. Add Google analytics code in HTML powered website

Method 1: manually
You have to copy the tracking code then you will need to log in your WordPress account and go to the dashboard.
Now click on the “appearance” tab in the left side corner of the screen.
Now you have to click on “editor” that will take you to the template session of the page.

Step 1: Now you need to find the “header.php” file. It will be located on the right side of the screen you can also search it by type “CTRL+F” and search the “header.php”
When you find it click on it.

Step 2:
After clicking on header.php the theme editor will be open and now you can edit your theme will be open and now you can edit your theme.
Now you need to find </head> code to find it type CTRL+F and search the </head> code.

Step 3:
after finding the </head> code paste the copied Google analytics code above it.

Step 4:
  you have pasted the code; now click on the “update file” button.
Now you can check everything is right you have to go back to through the Google Analytics code tab and refresh the page to see Google Analytics data if there no simply have to click the “send test traffic” button.
Once done you will be getting traffic analytics data after 24 hours.

Method 2: Using monsterinsights plugin

You can add Google analytics code to your blog by just installing a plugin called Google Analytics for WordPress by monsterinsights.
This plugin helps to install the analytics code.
For installing Google Analytics code in your site using monsterinsights plugin follow the below steps which given.

Step 1: go to the dashboard of WordPress and take a mouse to the plugin option left sidebar then clicks on the add button.

Step 2:
now you will have the place where you need to install a plugin at the the search bar in the upper right side corner of the screen.
“Search the Google Analytics for WordPress by monsterinsights”.
When you find it click on the install now button then “activate” it.

Step 3:
Now you have to configure the plugin which you installed and activated.
Go to the in “insights” at the left sidebar of the screen then click on the “setting” option.
Now you are at the plugin setting page where you have to connect your Google Analytics account to the plugin.

Step 4:
click on the “authenticate with your Google account” you need to connect your Google Analytics account with the plugin.

Step 5:
a page open called authentication then you have to click on the Next button, then click on “click to get Google code” then you will have to click on the allow button to get the code.

Step 6: Now you will see a code in a browser tab copy the code and paste it at ” Google code here” box then click on the Next button. 

After this, you have to select the analytics profile which you have stepped then click on “next” then “close” button.

Step 7:
after all this click on the “save changes” button which located left sidebar at the bottom corner of the screen.
In the future, you can see Google Analytics data at the “dashboard” the option of “insights”.

How to use Google analytics for analysis traffic?

If you have a Google Analytics account setup on your site. You will get a lot of information about your site to improve your site and get leads.
Google Analytics provides deep analytics of your site to make your site more understandable for you.
It shows you some options like
Sessions: the session column shows the sum of all the interaction on your site within a time period.
User: the user metrics show you the number of people visited your website within a particular time frame which you can select from time Panel.

Page views:
it shows you the entire page views of the site.
You will see accurate page views except than page views like reloading of a page and returning again to a page.
Average session duration: It shows you the average duration of all the sessions happened on your site with a time period.
Pages/sessions: these metrics show you the average number of visited pages per session, for example, If one site visitor visit 6 pages in a single session and another one visit 4 pages in one session, then the page session will show you 5 (page view/session) (6+4/2= 5)
New session: it shows you the percentage of new sessions happened at your site. It is the percentage of the session from the new site visitors.
You will have some options which provide full information about your site.

Real-time report

The real-time report provides you information about your website visitor who currently active site.
You get a real-time report of your website visitor to know how many active users are currently using your site.
You can also know the real-time how many pages viewed in per second and per minute.
You will have active Keywords which are your active user using. It also shows you the top active page of your site on the visitor landed.

Audience report

You can see the audience overview at the left sidebar.
Audience tab shows you 7 days report you can choose the time period from the date Panel at the top right side of the screen.
You can also see the hourly, weekly and monthly graphs.
Under the audience report, you will get information like user, number of pages views, session, average session duration, new session and bounce rate, etc.
You will also have a Percentage of new visitors and returning visitors at your a site like shown below in the image.
You can also see the website visitor’s location like country and city to know where visitors came at your site and also show the information like language, browser, and operating systems.

Acquisition report

It shows you where from the visitors coming to your site. You will have the information about all the methods from traffic comes to your site.
For example direct, organic, referral, social media traffic, other and email.
The acquisition also shows the sessions and conversations with the help of graph.
If you are running an ad campaign with AdWords then In AdWords tab you can know how your ad campaign is performing.
In the search engine optimization tab you will get which Keywords have driven traffic at your site. Which keywords are searched by your site visitors to came on your site.
