There are so many things that newbie bloggers did wrong. That’s why in this post I have mentioned some common mistakes that bloggers make often.
Here Are The Top 10 Blogging Mistakes That Beginners Do
1. Using a Free Blogging Platform
This is one of the biggest mistakes of newbie Bloggers who use free blogging platforms like blogger.
I’m not saying it’s not a good platform but if you want to grow as a professional blogger and money then you will have to migrate to WordPress.
WordPress is the most used blogging platform still now.
Blogger comes with limited features such as not able to customize Permalink, limited Themes, and Difficult to rank pages in search engines.
I had started my first blog on blogger when I noticed traffic growing, I switched to WordPress.
Blogger is good for those who want to start a personal blog and learn about the basic things of blogging.
When you use WordPress you get more complete control over your blog. At WordPress, you will get more features like Plugins, Themes, SEO Tools and etc.

2. Not Posting Often
Well, there are lots of bloggers who didn’t post often on their blog. This is one of the biggest reasons why most bloggers fail.
Even digital marketer like Neil Patel has mentioned in one of his posts that you must have to post consistently on your blog. If you didn’t do that it’s hard to get consistent growth in traffic.
You must have to post at least 2 or 3 times a week which is highly recommended. Google also ranks those blogs that are active and post content regularly.
When I was new to blogging I hardly post one or two times a month. I haven’t seen any growth in my blog traffic later when I started posting consistently 2 or 3 times a week for the next 3 months I got some amazing results.
That’s why I recommend you to post at least 2 times a week on your blog.
3. Using Poor Headlines
Do you know that 10 out of just 2 people just click on your post and read?
Probably you are using poor headlines in your blog posts, most beginners do this mistake. You should use targeted keywords in blog posts, if you are not doing this then it’s one of the big blogging mistakes.
A rich headline influence people to click on it and read the post.
You can also take the help of headline generator tools that help you to create blog post headline ideas.

4. Not Writing Long-Form Content
You always heard the quality is better than quantity but in the blogging industry, both are important.
That’s why most bloggers write long-form blog posts.
Whenever you search for something on Google, you will find that the top 10 results have more texts than other contents.
Because google-like the long-form in-depth articles that describe everything.
If you write narrow and small articles then it’s hard to rank those posts on Google. Words count really matters in SEO.
You should focus to write a blog post over 1500 to 2000 words. Some bloggers write more than 3000 words articles.
I personally try to write content over 1500 words. When I was a beginner did the same mistake that many newbies do start blogging with low-quality blog posts.

5. Not Using Images
Are you using images within your blog posts?
If not, then you are making such a big mistake that having your blog posts less interesting.
Tell me one thing, do you read a 2000 word blog post without having images. you will probably get bored soon after reading few paragraphs.
Nobody wants to read an article that has less than 3 or 4 images.
So, you must use interesting images, infographics, and gif in blog posts to make them more interesting to read.
For example: if you are writing about a list of 19 products, you should also include at least one image of each product to make it interesting and informative.
6. Not Answering the Comments
Blogging is all about creating engagement & building trust by helping others for free.
If you are not answering the comments and questions of your blog audience then, why would they stick with your blog?
You should have answered the comments and content page inquiries to build loyal audiences. I have seen so many bloggers reply to only just 5 to 6 people when posts have recently published.
Once a post gets older they didn’t reply to comments.
If you go to big blogs like NeilPatel and Backlinko you will notice they have replied to all the comments even after a big name in the blogging industry.
Blogging is totally dependents on the give and take.
7. Depend On Only One Traffic Source
If you are dependent on just one traffic source then this maybe lands you in big trouble. As we all know Google keeps changing its algorithm and link structure.
That’s why depending on just google traffic way dangerous than ever before. There are so many other good traffic sources such as Emails, Direct, Social Traffic and etc.
You can collect the email addresses of your blog visitors so later you can target them by sending blog post emails.
You should focus to target social traffic and create a profile on various platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn and etc.
I personally target Pinterest the most because it is the second high-quality traffic source you can get after search engines.
8. Looking for Overnight Success
Well, blogging is not for those who looking for overnight success. You have to work hard on your blog to grow traffic. Which can not be done within 2 or 3 months.
If you want to get rich soon through blogging this is one of the biggest blogging mistakes, you will get nothing in the end.
When I first started blogging haven’t seen any improvement in the first 6 months then after my blog started getting some traffic from Google.
You have to be consistent in blogging and forget about earning in the first 6 months in this time period you won’t have too many articles.
There are lots of Bloggers who earned their first income after 1 and 2 years of starting a blog.
So keep patience and work hard sooner or later you’ll get success.
9. You’re Not Collecting Email
Do you know that the email list is one of the biggest assets of bloggers? Most of the newbie bloggers don’t collect emails from their blog visitors and make a mistake.
Whenever you go to some big blogs like shoutmeloud, bloggingcage and bloggerspassion they all have been collecting emails through sign-up form and providing free stuff.
Most of the affiliate sales convert through email marketing that’s why you should have an email list.

10. You are not Promoting Affiliate Products
There are so many ways to make money from a blog such as Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, Sponsorship, Selling Products, and Direct Ads.
But affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money by promoting others’ products on your blog.

It can help you to earn a handsome income just from 3 or 4 affiliate sales in a month.
If you are a beginner blogger Adsense and Sponsorship would not work for you because as a beginner you don’t have much traffic.
So mainly focus on affiliate marketing to make money blogging.
